If you are considering any additions or improvements to your home please contact the Village prior to beginning work to determine if a zoning, architectural review and/or building permit is required. Examples of work requiring a permit are: decks, patios, roofs, siding, fences, pools, exterior landscape lighting, and accessory structures are some of the projects requiring a permit. Additionally, all tree removals, including dead, dying, diseased, and/or invasive species like buckthorn, require a permit.

The Village has adopted the 2018 International Building Code, along with the International Residential Code for One- and Two-Family Dwellings, International Fire Code, Fuel Gas Code, Mechanical Code, Energy Conservation Code, Property Maintenance Code, Swimming Pool and Spa Code, the NFPA Automatic Sprinkler Code, the 2017 National Electric Code, and the 2015 Illinois Plumbing Code.
The Village of Bannockburn requires all residential burglar alarm systems to be registered with the Bannockburn Police Department.

The Village offers a FREE notification service that allows the police department and Village to alert residents of emergency weather events, road closings, public safety crime advisories, natural and manmade disasters, and general Village information. Sign-up HERE.
Garbage, recycling and curbside composting services are provided by LRS. All residents are required to use LRS for their refuse needs. Please contact LRS directly at 844-633-3577 or visit their website and utilize their “Bannockburn Service Enrollment or Change Request” portal to set up service.
The Village provides notary services to its residents at no charge during normal office hours.

The Village mails out Water & Sewer bills out quarterly on the 20th day of January, April, July, and October.
