Arbor Day Tree Planting – April 25, 2025
The Bannockburn School, the Bannockburn Garden Club and the Village of Bannockburn celebrates Arbor Day each year by planting a new tree as part of our Arbor Day Celebration.
Compost Give-A-Way- May 10, 2025
Join the Village of Bannockburn, SWALCO and the Bannockburn Garden and Social Arts Club to celebrate International Compost Awareness Week in May 2025. Each household can take up to 20 gallons of compost for FREE while supplies last! Shovels provided, but bring your own bucket (or other container).
Staff will share information about Bannockburn’s residential curbside composting program through LRS, the Village’s waste hauler. Residents who pledge to compost will receive a free kitchen pail, courtesy of SWALCO, to help start their composting journey (while supplies last). Additionally, the Village and the Bannockburn Garden Club will distribute a limited quantity of free milkweed plants to Bannockburn residents while supplies last.

Movie in the Park – Summer Date(s) TBD
Join the Village for a FREE showing of a movie (title TBD). Movie begins after sunset. Bring your own chairs, snacks and blankets for a movie under the stars!
Annual LRS Spring Clean-Up – June 4, 2025
Bannockburn residents may place an unlimited amount of bulk-items curbside (up to 50 pounds and excluding white goods like refrigerators) for collection at no additional cost. All goods must be placed at the curb by 7 a.m. on the date of the event and must be a size manageable for one person to lift. No registration required. Halloween Haunted Trail – October 31, 2025
Bannockburn Trick or Treaters of all ages are invited to wear their Halloween costumes and take a walk through the Village of Bannockburn “Haunted Trail”. Treats will be handed out to the children along the trail. Parking will be available at: Bannockburn School and Bannockburn Village Hall.
Winter Festival – December 21, 2025
Bannockburn residents can enjoy a horse drawn wagon that will travel through the streets of Bannockburn.
