The Village of Bannockburn receives an Honorable Mention for the Lake County Municipal League (LCML) Municipal Innovation Awards

We are pleased to announce that the Village of Bannockburn has been recognized with an Honorable Mention for the Lake County Municipal League (LCML) Municipal Innovation Award. The award was presented to Village President Frank Rothing and Village Manager Maria Lasday at a luncheon on December 5th.

On November 12, 2019, on behalf of the Village of Bannockburn, the Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) and Glenstar Properties, the Village submitted a Municipal Innovation Award application to LCML to showcase our pilot Last Mile Shuttle program.

As you may recall, the Bannockburn Last Mile Shuttle program pilot is a partnership between the Village of Bannockburn, the RTA, GlenStar Properties, and Lyft. The pilot connects Bannockburn Lakes office complex located on Waukegan Road with four Metra Commuter Rail stations on two different lines: Highland Park and Highwood on the Union Pacific North Line; and Deerfield and Lake Forest on the Milwaukee District North Line. The Bannockburn Last Mile pilot assists commuters in completing their journey by offering a subsidized Lyft ride, providing an alternative to single-occupancy auto trips for access to jobs.
