In May 2020, a formal application was received by the Village from Allegro, who is seeking to develop a senior assisted living facility on 9-10 acres of land that would be divided from the Trinity International University campus. Allegro would own and operate the proposed facility. The location of the proposed facility would be on the northeast corner of property currently owned by Trinity that is adjacent to Route 22 (Half Day Road) and between the Deerfield-Bannockburn Fire Station and the existing student apartments on the Trinity campus. The plans and zoning application(s) are currently being reviewed by Village Staff for Zoning Compliance.

What is the next step?

The project was presented to the Village Board on June 8, 2020. The Village Board reviewed the proposal and felt that it had merit. As a result, the project was referred to the Plan Commission Zoning Board of Appeals (PCZBA) for further review. The PCZBA held a public hearing and reviewed the project on July 6, 2020 at 7:00PM and then continued the public hearing to August 3, 2020.  See Agenda
