New Chief of Police, Walt Trillhaase

We are happy to welcome Walt Trillhaase as our new Chief of Police. Walt was born and raised in New Jersey. He graduated from College of New Jersey with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. Walt began is law enforcement career in 1984 working in Seaside Heights, NJ; East Windsor, NJ; then Wauconda, IL; He joined the Deerfield Police Department from 1989 until he retired in 2015. He then worked part-time with the Riverwoods Police Department until he joined Bannockburn Police Department in 2017.

Walt and his wife, Angela have two daughters, Kelly and her husband, John live in Colorado, and Kiersten and her husband, Brian. Kiersten is a Deputy Coroner with the Lake County Coroner’s office and Brian is a police officer with the City of Highland Park.
